In the field of agriculture, water is of great importance because no plantation can live without it. For keeping the garden vegetations and plants to grow gradually, right sort of water supply and irrigation method has to be adopted. There is a variety of irrigation systems developed for the watering task. It is always preferred to have irrigation systems made that use as little water as possible. It is not simply because water is precious and that cannot be wasted, but because the right amount of water supply only benefits the plantation. Too much watering can harm them and little watering also can offer malnutrition. Normally, the common one is flood irrigation which is somewhat old and out-of-date watering method that offers irregular irrigation supply. On the contrary, the modern systems and techniques are developed for your watering purpose. Some of them are sprinkler systems and the most recommended drip irrigation systems. With sprinkler systems, you can water your plants and garden vegetation from the top through hose. But this sprinkling method has some disadvantages. By spraying water, some amount of water gets evaporated in the air. Moreover, the water being sprayed wets the soil and does not necessarily go to the root level. Drip irrigation system, compared to sprinklers is more beneficial. The method of drip irrigation involves uniform watering which directly goes to the root level without making water evaporated in the air and also maintains the moisture level in the soil which is quite important for the growth of the garden plants and other vegetations. Now lets think about how drip irrigation system or method came into existence and became so popular. Previously, in the past, people used clay pots as watering device. There were little holes in the pots and water came dripping slowly and steadily on the plants. It was in 1866 in Afghanistan, where some researchers experimented with clay pipes and made irrigation and drainage systems. Later on this irrigation method took fine shape and drip irrigation method was developed. But the fine and perfect concept of drip irrigation method was developed in 1959 by Simcha Blass in Israel. With Kibbutz Hatzerim, very first time he made surface drip irrigation emitters. Drip irrigation is sometimes refereed to as trickle or micro irrigation. Some spell it as drip irragation. This irrigation system consists of pipes, tubing, and emitters. You can make your system on the surface or beneath the soil. There are varieties o drip irrigation supplies such as drip emitters, tubing and pipes, soaker hose, hose connectors, pressure regulator, valve, filter, timers, etc. available in the market to making your system. If you really feel that drip irrigation can suit your irrigation task for your garden plants, then get it installed in your garden. Buy polyethylene tubing/hose so that you can prepare the main lines. Then, using connectors, you can join the lines. You need to install pressure regulator to offer the water required force. And also install filter to prevent remnants that may smother the way of your water. You have to install emitters to distribute water to your plants. Lastly, fix timers to facilitate putting your system so that you can on and off easily. Surface level drip irrigation is most often recommended. It is so, because, the system on the surface can be carried or shifted to where your garden plants are. In future, if you happen to make your garden bigger, you can shift or move your hoses easily to reach your new plants. Therefore, which irrigation method you use depends on the watering requirements of your plant types. Make wise choice of the watering method and make your garden healthy and ever green!

HDMI and DVI are both regarded as excellent methods of cable connection that for high definition video. In terms of quality, both of these are exactly the same, so these two should not be compared in terms of quality. However, it is known that HDMI can carry audio in addition to video signals and this proves to be the principal difference between the two. This can also be tweaked to allow a DVI source to connect to a HDMI display and vice versa, since the two types of cable are extremely similar and utilize the same type of encoding. DVI and HDMI both utilize functions which can deliver signals using the standard red, green and blue colour components. They are both digital, and that means that they are based both on similar specifications. HDMI was in fact derived from the DVI build, and therefore they are very similar in the way that data is processed. A DVI connection has three main connection types – DVI-D, DVI-A and DVI-I. The first one of these three connections, DVI-D is a digital only connection, the second, DVI-A being analogue only and the third, DVI-I is both analogue and digital. The reason for the differences in these connection types are related to compatibility with different devices, some may function with DVI-D but not with DVI-A and etc. The HDMI device was released in late 2002 and is similar in its ability to transmit uncompressed digital signals much like the DVI. It is capable of connecting any compatible audio and digital source to another, such as a TV to a game console, a DVD player, PC or set top box. However, the HDMI has one major disadvantage and this includes having multiple versions released each time it is updated, such as version 1. 1, 1. 2 or 1. 3. There are two big differences that should be noted however of DVI and HDMI, and this includes the support for security content protection. There is a system that HDMI uses in order to protect its media called High Definition Content Protection (HDCP) in which HDMI incorporates and DVI currently does not. Additionally, HDMI supports audio in addition to video. What would be the recommended choice here? HDMI and DVI are both very similar, but if you had to choose between one or the other, it would probably be a wise idea to go for HDMI. The main reasons for this conclusion would include the fact that being able to transmit audio signals as well allows you to use HDMI on a broader range of devices such as home entertainment speaker systems which allow you to play music using a better and faster cable connection. It is also a predicted trend that in the near future, the market will create a big push for HDMI over DVI due to the practicality in which it connects HD sources to a display. The world is slowly pushing forward to adopt HDMI as the standard of HD display of DVI, and although one is not better than the other, one can assume that out of the two, HDMI stands out to be more popular.

What is junk to one person maybe a treasure to another and vice versa. At some time or another everyone has had an accumulation of things and may need some form of junk removal. There are so many ways to do this, some more green than others. If your junk is really just debris from a construction project or cleaning up your yard, then straight to the disposal center is your best bet. If the stuff you need to get rid of is items – used, broken, parts, etc. you need to think a bit further about whether some of your items can be reused. The easiest thing to do would be to ask friends and family if they might have uses for some of these things or know others that might. If that doesn’t work the next best thing would be trying to sell some of these things for either profit or for a charity. Free services like Craigslist allow individuals to list their unwanted items by category for a certain price. Alternatively, charities such as the Salvation Army will often come to your home and pick up items that they want to sell in their retail stores – the monies from your unwanted items will be put to good use through their charity. If you don’t want to go that route there are several other ways to get rid of things without calling a junk removal service. You can donate toys and sports equipment to a local community center or clothes and supplies to a local shelter. Additionally, you can use a website such as Freecycle to list your unwanted items for others in the network that might be interested in taking them off your hands – you may even see some things that you would like to have that someone else is trying to get rid of. All these methods of junk removal help the environment, keep junk out of the landfills and can help make you feel better all around. Helping other people automatically makes you feel good about yourself and will probably make you think twice from now on when disposing of your unwanted items.

We get pleasure from our gardens in many ways. Perhaps you like the simple life with simply flowers to look at, a table and chairs and lawn space for the kids to play. You may get pleasure from breeding your own plants and flowers and maybe even passing these onto friends and family or even selling some at local markets etc. However, one of the pleasures that a lot of people get from their gardens is through growing their own vegetables. There is something quite rewarding about making Sunday dinner in the full knowledge that some or maybe even all the vegetables on your plate were taken fresh from the garden that morning. Just going outside on a Sunday morning into your own garden and picking your own carrots, peas, cauliflowers, brussels sprouts and potatoes can leave you with a great sense of satisfaction. Certainly if you go to the shops to buy your vegetables they will never be as fresh as the ones you pick yourself from your own garden. Many of the vegetables you pick ready for including in your Sunday dinner are also very tasty to eat in their natural state. In fact I have often found myself nibbling on peas while I have been picking them for dinner. They taste great fresh out of the pod. If you have a greenhouse, why not have a go at growing your own tomatoes and other things like peppers and chillies. In fact, it’s great to be able to wander outside and just pick yourself a fresh tomato to eat whenever you like. There is another advantage to growing your own vegetables too and that is that you know exactly what went in to creating them. You can be 100% certain whether or not pesticides and other chemicals were used on your crop. This is great knowledge to have, especially if you have children and want to be careful about exactly what you are feeding them. No matter what the labels say in the shops, this is something you may never be 100% sure about when you buy vegetables from the shop. There are some sprays you may want to use to keep pests and diseases at bay but even so, you are in control. Make sure you read the labels and you can be sure exactly what you are spraying on your plants. Wherever possible though, try and go for a natural solution. For example, when growing tomatoes one of the most common problems is white fly. You can reduce their impact quite a lot though by growing French Marigolds close by. This is because the Marigold’s pungent odour will mask the scent of the tomato plants and therefore they will not as easily attract the pest. There are other companion plants you can use to keep different pests away from your other vegetables as well. If you are concerned about disease then it is within your control to select the variety of vegetable to grow that will flourish in your environment and also be resistant to disease. It is this control that allows you to do anything you want in your garden. So, if you have a spare piece of ground in your garden, why not consider growing a few vegetables for yourself. You will be rewarded time and again if you do.

Have you ever felt small and insignificant? Have you ever wished that you could just crawl into a hole and never come out again? Have you ever felt ashamed of your own sexuality? If you have ever struggled with having tiny breasts, then your answers to some if not all of my questions would have been ‘yes’. That was me just over a year ago. That’s right, I had the tiniest breasts for a woman in her 20’s. I used to look at photos of celebrities and models in glossy magazines with eyes green with envy. It was not difficult to figure out why I never had a boyfriend. Guys would not give me a second look. I remember crying myself to sleep Saturday nights because I was so lonely. One day, a girlfriend of mine noticed my eye bags and bulging red eyes and asked me what was wrong. I burst out in tears as I poured out my sorrow to her (the first person I ever confided in). Then to my utter surprise, my friend confessed to me that she too had small breasts before but for many years she had been using padded bras to hide it (no wonder I never noticed). My friend then recommended to me the proven method that she used to grow her own breasts. It is found in the website www. grow-bigger-breasts-naturally. com by Nancy Newton. She had written an ebook entitled, “How I Made My Breasts Grow Bigger Naturally” in which she detailed her proven method for breast growth. I had heard of breast growth products in the form of creams or pills or even herbs but not an ebook. That made me curious so the moment I got home, I looked up the website. As I read it, the words seemed to be describing me and the situation I was in. I was convinced Nancy and her ebook could help me. I promptly ordered her ebook and downloaded it. What I read really opened my eyes. I learned the important principle that my body is my ’slave’ and not the other way around. It should do what I want it to do. So if I want my breasts to grow, I could enhance its growth using some simple techniques shown in Nancy’s book. So for 3 full months I applied those techniques every day. I learned how to influence the very cells of my breasts to multiply and grow. I even learned some little known techniques involving my emotions and imagination (I always thought breast growth was a purely physical thing. I was wrong). At first, nothing seemed to change, but from the fourth month onwards, my bras felt a bit tighter. I was so excited! It took me about 6 whole months, but my breasts gradually grew one cup size. You can’t imagine how that made me feel and what it did to my self-esteem as a woman. Today, I have completely changed my view of myself and my outlook in life. All thanks to Nancy’s amazing ebook, “How I Made My Breasts Grow Bigger Naturally”.

Going green and saving money go hand-in-hand. When you cut energy costs, you’re saving money as well as the natural resources that create that energy. In fact, the US Department of Energy reports that the home sector uses approximately 66% of the electric energy in this country. What’s more, electrical energy consumption in the U. S. doubled between 1989 and 2005. You might be surprised at how many ways you can cut costs and energy consumption around your home. Here’s a list of effective measures to make a greener environment and make your wallet a little greener as well. Shade Management 1: Keep the shades open on the sunny side of the house to help heat rooms in winter. Shut the shades to help cool rooms in summer. Shade Management 2: Landscape so that in the summer, trees, vines and shrubs shade driveway pavement, courtyards, large windows, etc. Cross Ventilate: Opening windows on just one side of the house isn’t effective – the air has no path to flow through. Open windows on opposite sides to create a breeze. Use a reversible ceiling fan: It’s effective both in winter and summer, generating a direct breeze in the summer and redistributing rising hot air in the winter. Use CFL lights: Replace your standard incandescent bulbs with long-life, energy efficient “compact fluorescent lights. ” They come in a variety of shapes and applications. Use dimmers and mood lighting: If you’ve got dimmers, use them! If not, have them installed. They create comfortable lighting and save energy. Use task and tract lighting: It’s more efficient and reduces the glare of an overly lit room. Clean or paint walls: Dingy walls don’t reflect light well and give the room a “dark” feeling. Brighten up! Use outdoor sensor lights: Use them instead of leaving porch and yard lights on all night. They provide even more security, reacting to motion. Differentiate the toilet from the waste basket: Don’t use the toilet for cigarettes, paper or an occasional nose tissue. You can save 200-300 gallons a month. Install aerators: They’re easy to put on kitchen and bathroom faucets, reduce water consumption and still provide a refreshing flow. Wash full loads: Don’t use the dish and clothes washers until they’re full. Fix leaks: One simple leak can waste 20 gallons a day. Keep a bottle of water in the refrigerator: Instead of running the tap water until it’s cold. Don’t sprinkle, irrigate: An irrigation hose uses less water and makes it easier for your lawn to “swallow. ” If the grass springs back when you lift your foot, it doesn’t need water. Also, watering in the morning instead of dusk helps prevent fungus growth. Use mulch: A layer around trees and plants slows down evaporation so you will need to water less. Use a broom, not a hose: And get a little exercise sweeping the drive and sidewalks. Capture tap water: While waiting for the water to heat up, capture the cool water and use it on your plants. If replacing or adding appliances, consider: 1. Energy Star ratings and recommendations 2. Low flush toilets 3. Programmable thermostats 4. Heat pumps that distribute heat more efficiently 5. Evaporative coolers 6. Circulating hot water pumps for larger homes where faucets are far apart

For anyone interested in buying a home in a city that comes with a piece of the good life, Charleston, South Carolina is a good place to start. With a mild climate and plenty of recreation options to keep people busy year-round, Charleston is likely to fill all the items on anyone’s home shopping wish list. The region’s housing market has begun to rebound, with property sales happening in all price ranges. First-time buyers, investors or millionaires searching for a new luxury home are all looking at options in the city of Charleston and its surrounding suburbs. This historical city is a hidden jewel, comparatively, with just under 645,000 people in Metro Charleston. In some districts, though, the secret is out and people are jumping at the chance to own real estate in this laid back, subtropical region. Many older styles of homes in the downtown core reflect an era where decades ago, large rooms with high ceilings offered much appreciated cross-breeze designs to keep residents cool. Today, central air conditioning is the preferred choice for temperature balance in most homes. While some new construction has taken place in the original section of Charleston, the magnificent architecture style has been maintained, creating a virtual trip back in time to the gentle, southern style and grace of the city. Also contributing to Charleston’s real estate recovery is the growing interest from the baby boomer population. With the multitude of golf courses, tennis courts and water sports to keep calendars booked for months on end, this city is a natural choice for active retirees. As people research the options for housing in Metro Charleston, they will find selections from condos and single-family homes to waterfront mansions ready for grand entertaining. Folly Beach, located 15 miles south of the city, has earned its reputation as Charleston’s original beach playground. Several private islands, including Sullivan’s Island, Johns Island, Isle of Palms, Daniel Island, and Kiawah Island offer their own choices of real estate for sale and thriving local communities. Many districts in Charleston are offering new home construction, where buyers have the opportunity to tailor the design of their new homes, from floor plans to tile colors in the kitchen and more. These homes are also being built with energy saving amenities, which fit perfectly into the “green” approach to construction and lifestyle. For people who are looking to purchase their first home, there are a number of properties priced well within reach for newcomers to the real estate market. Some may be mild fixer-uppers, and only need a good paint job to freshen rooms, while other homes need a more work and a little tender loving care – perfect for the person who loves the art of renovation.

Are you thinking of starting your own business, but concerned about the cost? A smart move that can save entrepreneurs money using the latest technology is working virtually-from the comfort of your home. When you think of starting your own home based business, the first thing that come to your mind will be saving time and money while spending lots of free time with your family and the flexibility of making your own schedule. The rising cost of gas and environmental affect of commuting encouraged most people to start their own business. Along with it, modern amenities such as Internet, email, fax and phone also allows you to work from anywhere you want. With these improved technologies, working from home and telecommuting is becoming a reality in many people’s lives. Though commuting is often a necessity, it takes many hours that could be used effectively. Therefore, many workers are attracted towards telecommuting as it saves both time and money. Telecommuting is becoming increasingly popular as workers try to reduce commuting time. With telecommuting, you can save car and fuel expenses as well as have a few extra hours per week that would have been spent driving on the road. With gas price being so expensive, it is no surprise that you will save big bucks in this area starting your own business. It is a great way to stay green while improving efficiency and productivity in your work field. According to a data released by U. S. Census Bureau, “Americans spend more than 100 hours commuting to work each year. ” Working from home will not only save your time and money, but also help in increasing productivity. As a business owner, you will have more flexibility staying with your family; you have more hours in a day to get the work done. Telecommuting saves time, money and fuel. It is an arrangement in which you can work from home or from anywhere or wherever you can use your mobile telecommunication technology. All you need to start your own business is a computer, a phone and some network connection. You can also give your business a wider perspective by creating a web presence. Working from home means no need to purchase office space, no need to maintain the office building, no utilities cost, no commuting expenses. This means saving money, which you can spend in increasing productivity in your business. With ever increasing household expenses and everyday bills, many families are struggling to make their dream into reality. If you are not commuting to your work everyday, you could save several hundred dollars each month just by having a home business. Again, a home based business allows one or both parents to be at home to care their children while still earning income. This not only saves you financially, but also gives you a peace of mind to be with your children. Starting your business from home in this era of cost cutting can save you a great amount of money with minimizing commuting expenses.

Lawn mower blades get mechanical abuse a lot during the normal course of operations. Grass is actually very abrasive. After getting yourself a very expensive lawn mower and spending a lot of money, what is the point of still using old style blades that have no additional features. It is now time to start thinking of innovative methods to extend the life of your lawn mower blades. This life extension can be done using a process called thermal spray. The procedural steps are as follows. The first step in thermal spraying your lawn mower blades is to clean it thoroughly with a solvent such as acetone. Then mask the body of the blade where no cutting takes place using a thermal spray masking tape. These are usually a high temperature tape designed specially for thermal spray coating operations. This will expose the surface of the blade just a little bit beyond the cutting edges. The third operation is abrasive grit blasting to develop a roughened mechanical profile on the blade surface. Note that thermal spray coatings are bonded to the surface by mechanical means and hence a well cleaned surface with an excellent profile goes a long way in developing a good mechanical bond. Now a bond coat with a material such as nickel-aluminum or nickel-chrome-aluminum is preferred. Such a bond coat will improve and enhance the mechanical and metallurgical adhesion of the subsequent top coat; just like you would use primer before a standard coat of paint. For the top coat, use tungsten-carbide-cobalt as the preferred choice and deposit using the plasma thermal spray process. Apply a reasonable thickness. The next step is to remove all masking. The following step is to grind the applied coating properly to develop the sharpness of the blade profile. Now you have a high quality tungsten-carbide coated lawn mower blade. It is preferable that you use the services of a reputable thermal spray shop, because the parameters used in depositing the coating are important and they can be the difference between getting good wear resistance and not so good results. Again, as always, check with the original equipment manufacturer if your process is acceptable or not, because they may have clauses that relate to warranties and the like. They may even advice on the safety aspects involved.

Terminating Ultraflexible and High-Strength Cables Foot soldiers in our modern Army now are “walking computers. ” Night visiongoggles, GPS receivers, computers and radios are becoming commonplace. The interconnecting military cable must be lightweight and strong, but still contain all of the circuit conductors to carry out their mission. The military wire can be snagged on environmental hazards such as bushes or protrusions from vehicles. Increased strength demand means that the addition of strength members, such as Kevlar or PPO fibers, are now the “norm. ” Satellite custom cable need to have lightweight shields while still maintaining the same or higher shield effectiveness. Aracon, which is nickel- or silver-plated Kevlar, can assist in these applications. As a plated fiber that will spread across the cable core, it can easily give greater shield coverage than can be obtained with flat or round copper wires. Ground support equipment, while relying more and more on radio communications, still has the need for robust cables between communication huts. Fiber optics can pass large amounts of data, but there is still the need for power to the equipment. Composite cables can do both. The need for high tensile-strength members to keep the cables from pulling apart as well as crush-resistant materials to protect the fibers calls for tougher materials. The design process starts with a source control drawing (SCD), as most harsh environment cables do not conform to the old MIL-spec system. Many military and medical cable designs use the material and physical properties and testing requirements from existing MIL-specs as a starting point and then delineate the additional requirements on the SCD granted waivers from the RoHS by the European Union (EU). When the conductor size gets smaller than 30 AWG, consideration of moving to stainless steel as a conductor material needs to be reviewed. Often, for short conductor lengths, the increased resistance of stainless steel can be tolerated. If not, gold or silver plating can be done on the individual strands of a conductor to bring the resistance down to acceptable levels. For terminations, soldering to stainless steel is difficult, whereas the gold or silver-plated wire can easily be soldered. Crimp contacts can easily be attached to stainless steel. Table 1 lists the strength and conductivity of alloys that can be considered when copper is not strong enough. After the conductor has been determined, the insulation must be chosen. The environmental considerations determine the temperature rating, solvent resistance and physical characteristics. Many programs now prohibit the use of PVC. Thermoplastic elastomer’s (TPEs) have taken the place of many PVC materials. Also, to replace PVC, companies such as GE Plastics have created flexible versions of NORYL that can be extruded to ground support equipment, while relying more and more on radio communications. Sometimes there comes a occasion when we have to select or buy something about which we hardly know anything. Purchasing a wire or cable for your home or work is a work like that and can become a daunting task for most of us. After all, our markets are full of products like these and most dealers’ stock wires of different sizes, length, thickness, and colour but how do we know which one is the best for us? The best way to start your hunt of buying a perfect custom cable is to consult a friend, neighbour, colleague or family member who has some knowledge about the hardware. They may not be able to accompany you because of their routines but can definitely give you few practical tips that will help you in taking a correct decision. Cable Shielding is one of the main points to consider during the purchase. Shielding is what ensures that the electric current flows through the cable smoothly without any danger. It also minimizes the issue of signal exit or entrance that can be caused by interference. There are mainly four types of shielding – foil, braid, spiral and combination of braid and foil. A green cable with foil shield ensures that it is covered till the end and is generally cheaper that the other types of cables. Braids shields are majorly used in computers to terminate inter connections for controlling different applications. Its advantages include flexibility and longer structural integrity. Cables with spiral shield are normally used for microphone, and audio cables. These also offer greater flexibility and longer shelve life. Combination shields come with total foil coverage and are strong but the disadvantage includes higher costs. You can also go for Robotics cable, which can work without any problem within a temperature range of -40 to +80°C and ensure continuous twisting motion for flexing applications. Coaxial cable is another option if looking for electrical cable with an inner conductor and surrounded by an insulating layer.
