This book is worth the time invested in reading. "Green IT" is an approach / methodology to understand all the needs of industry. Information is presented in this book very well and is easy to read. If you are looking for information on ongoing energy and time saving practices, legal information and education strategies with respect to the greening of IT, it is an excellent resource.

Book of actual case studies to promote the importance of green IT. " It was easy to compare the thought of the current IT infrastructure, where infrastructure, because it must go there, many tables, or Web links to illustrate the efficiencies to be gained from a ecological approach. The main disadvantage of external links is that they may not be the time the book was published. A website with updates would be a good idea – the online edition is free only 45 days trial version. Some newer technologies it has in the book, but I do not want to see some of the others – for example Flywheel UPS (although flywheels) for a long time. Fuel cell backup power non-mention rate, because a new technology. Some avoid further consideration of the effectiveness of the computer room and the limits of the grass under the cool new high-density rack-based air borders have been a good addition. This is certainly not negative, because there is only so much you can cover in a book in general. Some pictures have been too small or not enough contrast for the representation of the publication in black and white (eg Fig.. 11 3 and 11. 4, an image of thermal imaging camera and better adapted to the color), but not the material is presented impaired. I suppose the choice of black and white was need driven by the desire for a Kindle version as well as the additional cost of color printing. So many external links to additional information has been provided and are generally a good overview of current thinking on the greening of IT in their context. Of course with the author as a person of IBM there was good coverage of IBM technologies – but it was more than enough to cover non-IBM solutions, it was not a problem. I recommend this book to both technical and non-technical reader as the equipment was on two levels.
